Can't tell if I should do a public presentation or quietly finish college

Ok so basically my Finance class has an option to do a public presentation instead of having to write a term paper; I am excited to do it if it means getting out of having to write the paper but am terrified at the idea of standing in front of people and all of the effort that goes into public appearances and the only things I am capable of thinking of are the worst case scenarios of every single thing that is, cannot, can, could, or could not or would not happen.
I have zero clue what to do.
