Post Body

I am almost 40.

My mom (who I am pretty sure I got it from) and her mother have this thing where they would go through names of their children until they hit the right one. In my late 30's, and prior to DX/RX, I found myself starting doing the same thing, but on a smaller scale.

My brain would just have these hiccups here and there. Nothing too major, but it's onset was fast enough that I was getting worried. I make a living as a software developer, so I need to be sharp to put food on the table and retirement age is still far.

After being diagnosed and treated, I found my mental sharpness to be back.

I've read that there's a strong link between untreated ADHD and dementia and I kind of believe that these "hiccups" were the very beginning of some type of mental degradation.

Did anyone else go through something like this? I am not sure whether I am imagining things here. This is not something I often read about here, so hence me asking.
