Sooo I don't have ADHD but I'm trying to figure out if I should try to get a diagnosis because I've been having a difficult time ever since I had to start taking care of myself. I'm 21.
I think my eating habits are the most obviously "disordered" compared to the norm. I wonder if these are typical issues for someone with ADHD:
as a teen: waking up too late to make breakfast/lunch and ending up only eating when you're back from school, or just not taking lunch with me because there's nothing I feel like eating and not eating at all is easier than making the meal choice
only eating in the evening because (again) there's too much choice, the options are too bland or take too much effort and so you just don't eat
not eating because preparing a meal takes too much time. Eating things that aren't healthy or eating the same things again and again because preparing something healthy takes too much time.
Ever since graduating high school it's become worse because there's no structure anymore and I think I've lost about 8kg in the first few months, but now I try to keep it under control, which takes a lot of effort. My BMI is around 19 (in high school it was 21).
The things I eat really aren't healthy enough, though - bread, soup, frozen pizzas, pasta pesto, cookies, eggs (though this is a bit too much effort often) ... So just things I can prepare in a few minutes and that I can leave on the stove without actively having to cook it. That's about it :/
