Are people with Non-ADHD brains able to shut their thoughts/brain off at night?

Post Body

I’m curious on this because I’ve never been able to just shut my thoughts off or even slow them down a bit when trying to sleep ( my mind is always racing at night time especially ). Is this an ADHD thing, or does everyone experience this?

I was diagnosed as a young kid ( maybe between 10-12, can’t fully remember ) and was prescribed medication, me being how I am ( plus I was young and didn’t know any better ) , I stopped taking it after a few weeks thinking I was fine without them. Now in my 20s and just starting to realize how much it affects/affected me my whole life and now. So I’m going to try medication for real this time since I’ve seen so many people have success.

But I’m genuinely curious how much different our brains really are…..

So back to my question, can non-adhd people just lay back at night time with a clear mind when they want it to be clear? Because I can’t!!
