What do you use for background without over stimulating the brain?

Looking for background noise
So I hate having something on the TV I can't actually watch, I mean I like background noise but if I know action is happening I have to keep my eyes glued to the screen. And if I want to sleep on the bed it super annoying.
I feel like pod casts are good as long as like it just them talking on at a table like Joe Logan style pod casts.
