How did you find out what type of ADHD you had?

Hi all, as the title says I’m curious how those of you found out what type of adhd you had? I was diagnosed at 17 and was put on adderall and it did wonders. I’ve been off medication for 10 years and my binge eating plus other symptoms have gotten way out of control especially after moving to a new country. I’m getting an evaluation on Friday and curious what the process is like?
