I (35F) was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 13, but my mother thought the doctor was just pushing medication on me because she thought my behavior was totally normal and fine. Flash forward to a few years ago when my mother was diagnosed with pretty severe ADHD and realized that neither her nor my behavior was ānormal,ā let alone āfine.ā I had always thought that maybe I was on the cusp of ADHD but that my symptoms werenāt severe enough for medication because I wasnāt treated after my initial diagnosis. I assumed that everyone felt the same things I did, but everyone was just better at handling their symptoms. Nah. Iāve got severe symptoms that need medicated.
Herein lies my problem: I have not pursued medical intervention because I canāt hold a job long enough to qualify for healthcare, let alone decent healthcare. I canāt afford to pay the litany of doctors needed for the referrals/assessments/etc. and even if I could, I canāt maintain focus on the issue long enough to solve it.
I heard that there were some online portals where you can get assessed/treated/medicated all in the same place and that itās faster/cheaper than the traditional treatment methods. Turns out there are more than a few, and now I donāt know which one to sign up with.
Has anyone had any positive experiences with any of these platforms? Are there any that are outright scams?
Please help! Many thanks in advance for any advice you all can give ā”Ģ
