As a community with ADHD, the topic of self-esteem comes up regularly for most, if not all of us. Wether it's because of childhood, procrastination or generally being clumsy and disorganised, there are many different factors thst can contribute to low self-esteem.
As somebody who is diagnosed and unmedicated, low self-esteem is also a thing that is stunting me. There seems to be a very easy solution that therapists, coaches and most people that are trying to help agree on: learn to love yourself for who you are and realise you are worthy of love and attention.
In my personal experience, there seems to be a big flaw in that statement. Even with ADHD, I stay responsible for my actions. After every seemingly unnecessary mistake and every impulsive act, there is nothing to blame but I. And to start loving a person who without fail makes your life much harder than it needs to be seems outright delusional.
So how should one manage to live with themselves?
