I thought this was kinda funny. I recently had surgery. Today I decided to read through all of the detailed notes the doctors included in my chart. They noted very thoroughly, including mental stuff that isn't super relevant to surgery. No harm of course, but I noticed that my various diagnoses were categorized. Here's a snippet:
Anesthesia: Motion sickness
Hematology: On pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV
Pediatric: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
Lol. I'm 33, and I was diagnosed at 30. So many doctors don't even consider that a real adhd diagnosis and treatment could have happened at my age.
