Kind of a random question but I realized that no matter how much I love my kindle and how practical it is ... there's something about a paper book that cannot be replicated for me. The smell, the cover (important) and the ability to instantly see your progress (plus quick page turning) and how far you've come which acts as a natural motivator to continue. I come into the room, see the book and the urge to continue (or read it again) emerges.
In contrast to that, my kindle and my e-books are not able to envoke this in me. I come into the room, I see the e-reader (if I do seet it) and I don't see the beautiful cover, I don't see the progress, I just see this device that reminds me of other technical devices. No emtions are evoked in me. All of this leads to me reading significantly less than I do with paper books ( or not read at all).
I do suspect that this may be linked to ADHD ('Ive been diagnosed) and that I may have to accept this and not force myself to go for e-books and instead just do what works for me.
I do wonder and I would love to know if you share this experience or not.
