So I've had problems with drinking since I first left home at 20 and every time I try to explain why I drink no one seems to understand or be able to help.
I've been diagnosed with ADHD since 6, none of my docs seem to want to put me on anything but ritalin or concerta. So I've just accepted it. Problem is neither of them seem to quieten down anything or dull down my overactive brain enough for me to do anything. Drinking does. It really does. It fucks me up and I know it's bad for me but it chills me out so that instead of 1000000 thoughts at once it's 10.
Catch me getting shitfaced just to be able to clean the kitchen because it's the only thing that helps. And yet. No AOD counsellor or ADHD specialist has actually bothered to help me find a better alternative.
I can't be the only one drinking to cope with ADHD, and I just don't know what the better option is at this point.
