Do meds really help with addiction?

Post Body

I feel like I have a very addictive personality, Iโ€™ve noticed it throughout my whole life. Not even just drugs/alcohol, but things like music, or even people I feel like I can get something like addicted to.

I also have diagnosed adhd, but donโ€™t take medication because of my mom. I was just wondering if anybody else had felt like they got addicted so easily, but when they started medicating it reduced that feeling. Once I turn 18 (1 year left!), I can finally start on meds, and am hoping these feelings will go away, or at least be reduced by proper meds.
