Male 42 uk.. So yesterday I went to a autism initial assessment where they gather information then its passed to a panel of experts who review it and decide if a full assessment is required...The woman doing this initial assessment was a psychologist I believe...After the assessment I asked what she thought ,if anything jumped out in what I described and and she said that although autism might not be ruled out she said it sounded more like adhd...A few things I mentioned...I do get hyper spells which I had yesterday funnily enough,my brain races jumping from thought to thought, and although it does have a slight pleasant feeling it also has some agitation mixed in with it..I described it like my internal motor is revving too much which is the best description I've eheard that I relate to. .I never feel satisfied emotionally like I'm always chasing more almost like chasing a high??? I said imagine been on ecstacy and u feel euphoric but its still not enough you need to feel more...also I do fixate on things where I,ll learn all I can about something for months and months on end and burn the subject out to where I'm bored of it and move on...im also quite impulsive..spending is a prime example.....She said all these things especially the not feeling satisfied and always kind of chasing more emotionally they see a lot in adhd...There was a lot more these are just a few points..she suggested getting a adhd assessment which im in the process of now with the gp...So im not self diagnosing im not into that but can anyone relate to some of the things I've described..I know its a long post so I appreciate the feedback..
