How do you feel after a decade of medication?

I've been posed the question of whether I want to medicate my condition.
I can find a lot of videos about people talking about taking the medication for a period of 6 months to a year. While insightful, I'm aware that if medication is going to have downsides, they can take multiple years to develop or become apparent.
I would like to read about the experiences of people who tried medicating for a significantly long time.
