A few months(or weeks I dunno) back I made a post explaining how I hate washing the dishes and couldnāt stop procrastinating on it. However, I realised peopleās solutions didnāt really address the root of my issues with cleaning. While some of you gave options that would help make cleaning more enjoyable, the solutions didnāt make me want to clean. If that makes sense.
So anyway, I have a theory that the only way Iāll want to clean, is if I hyperfixate on cleaning. Now some may be wondering, ābut I canāt control what I hyperfixate on.ā Thatās fine because I have a solution to that too that might grant you the ability to give yourself hyperfixations.
My solution is to think about all of your previous or current hyperfixations and find a similarity in how they all started. If your hyperfixations started because you found a cool video, a new fact, a way to find comfort, be creative, or research, etc. like just something in common about what you enjoy out of all your hyperfixations. Now apply that to cleaning. Find a cool YouTube video about cleaning, find facts and research about cleaning, find ways to be creative with cleaning or find comfort in it.
For example, with me, I love how I can research about all of my hyperfixations. I love the theory behind it but I also like how I can make my own experiments and tests afterwards.
My theory is that if I research about cleaning products, tools and techniques. My brain will start making me want to test out new cleaning products and new ways to clean so I can find the most effective way, making it so that I hyperfixate on cleaning and desire to clean instead of curl into a ball and cry everytime thereās dirty dishes.
