Prior substance abuse and worsening ADHD symptoms

I am wondering if anyone here has any experience with prior substance abuse, and after they get sober their ADHD symptoms are a lot worse then previously. Let me explain. I have been sober for 8 years and I was a pretty severe addict. I was self medicating for both trauma, and my ADHD. It's a whole story Anyways. When I was younger before my addiction I was diagnosed with severe ADHD, but I found the right combination of medication and it became manageable. I went thru my addiction for a few years, and then have been sober 8 almost 9 years. In that period of sobriety, my symptoms have increased...a lot. And it's been really hard to find the right dosage of medication. They don't seem to work right now work long enough (I'm on 60 mg Vyvanse generic and 10 mg Adderall booster in the afternoon). I'm wanting to know if there is any correlation between addiction, and increased ADHD symptoms after sobriety is reached.
