So my long time physician called it quits because the hospital system that dominates around where I live hadn’t given him a raise since the pandemic. He told me they couldn’t even attract new hires because the moment they check out the housing costs the find somewhere else to practice so I should expect a wait and he wrote me a three month supply of vyvanse.
I thought I was lucky finding another doctor in the system with an opening right around when I’d need to start refilling again. Honestly he was the closest with an open appointment, the others were booked until like August or September. Figured I’d go to my appointment today, have my script by Monday at the latest. Nope. Even after confirming my appointment two days ago I went to do my pre-appointment check in and make sure records had been exchanged and such to find my appointment was cancelled. Apparently they don’t update their appointment system and this whole time the new guy wasn’t taking new patients.
So, wtf do I do? I’m pretty close to going to see a doc in a box and explaining my situation. I have a pretty demanding job and really need my meds to handle it. I’ve got some old straterra but I had switched back to vyvanse in the first place because I need to do admin and production each day and with straterra I never had the mental bandwidth to do both. Plus it’s going to take time to build up and I’d really rather not suck at my job for a week.
