39 year old male, was just prescribed Vyvanse for the first time (I haven't actually gotten it yet because, shortage, but you know). At the office I was told he was prescribing me 30 mg, but when checked the pharmacy online it said 50 mg. I know the normal starting dose is 30 mg so I assumed there must have been a mixup, so I called the office to ask about it and when they got back to me they said that because of my size, the doctor decided 50 mg would be a more effective dose (I'm 6'1 about 220 lbs).
Has anyone else started on this high of a dose? This will be my first time taking any ADHD medication, so it just made me a little nervous that I'd be starting on something higher than what's considered normal. Is there a way to maybe split the capsule the first time I try it, or is that not recommended? Should I be ok with just taking the 50 mg?
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated :)
