Extended release vs Immediate release

Post Body

Hi everyone, I have a quick questions…

I finally got to seeing a psychiatrist and was given the opportunity to get a prescription for Adderal. My psychiatrist explained to me that there’s a major shortage on extended release Adderal, and therefor she’s prescribing me the immediate release.

I was telling my sister this, and she told me that the immediate release is not so good and that it will knock me out after 4-5 hours. I wanted to know what everyone’s opinion is here and if there’s anyone with experience with both that can assist me. My friends brother owns a pharmacy so I reached out to see if he has the extended release but is it worth the hassle of trying to look for it? Is the extended release really that much more beneficial?
