Does a childhood diagnosis hold up as an adult?

Post Body
I am a 28yo male who was diagnosed with ADHD at around 6 years old. I was medicated as a child but stopped in high school. Now, as an adult, my ADHD is making everything in my life so hard. I want to get back on medication, but I know how difficult it is to get an adult diagnosis. Is it possible that my medical records from childhood will hold up now and expedite that process? Thank you in advance for any answers.
