was finally able to get my vyvanse for the low price of …. 271$!!!!!!!! /s

After several weeks of calling different pharmacies and (definitely) annoying pharmacists and techs alike to attempt to find generic, I was forced to fold and pay nearly 300$ for a medicine I need to literally function on a day to day basis 😁

I would’ve just kept waiting for generic to come back in stock if school didn’t start again this week, but I had no choice. This is literally fucking ridiculous and I feel for everyone who is struggling to get their meds or who is unmedicated in general

Today’s the first day in weeks I’ve actually felt normal and not like a messy, chaotic, piece of shit!!!

TLDR: the american healthcare insurance system sucks ass so I had to pay nearly 300$ for my medicine 😁

Just found out that the medication I’ve been on for multiple years with the same insurance is no longer going to be covered moving forward this year. Found out when I went to fill and freaked out at the total. Luckily my insurance gave me a “courtesy” one time refill cover for this month and stated that they had sent me a letter at the end of last year explaining the changes to my coverage…. It’s not even an expensive medication either. It’s got multiple generic options and they only pay like 50$ a month for it versus my 7$ initially. But now that they don’t cover at all it becomes me that’s responsible for like 400$. And I’m a fucking nurse. With hospital Insurance, filling at the hospital’s pharmacy. Hahaha if only I had the motivation and concentration to make a presentation explaining how much money they would lose after forcing a shit load of their ADHD nurses to not be on their meds anymore….
