Once I've started "working" on something, I'm in "work mode" for pretty much the whole day. Say I start studying, and I've narrowed my focus to concentrate on studying. Now, even after studying, I'm stuck in "concentration". It might not be on what I was doing earlier (but often is), it can be literally anything. Everything else that I need to be doing. Putting timers for everything.
I just get frustrated because I don't know how to rest and recharge. I can't switch off my mind once I get it working. After work sessions I don't want to use my phone or listen to music or game or anything really because again it's focusing my attention on one thing and I want to do the opposite (disperse my attention, or enter "diffuse mode thinking). I have no idea how I am supposed to do that.
Ideally sitting and doing nothing helps, but sometimes I'm still stuck thinking and can't turn it off. I just don't know how to give my brain the break it needs sometimes. I think meditation may help, but I think I need to do the right type since it can also just become about focusing on one thing (like your breath).
Please give me advice for anything that can help with this.
