I haven’t been formally diagnosed with ADHD, but but I relate to the working memory and emotional disregulatuon aspects of ADHD. A lot of tips and tricks I learned from this sub, ADHD YouTube, and ADHD books have helped me a TON.
I went to an initial evaluation last week and the provider said that bipolar, PTSD/trauma, and other conditions can mimic ADHD, and she suspects that might be my case. But bipolar/anxiety/depression resources haven’t worked for me. They are just not as practical and often make me feel more despair.
I’m afraid of being told I actually don’t have ADHD because i am afraid i will feel out of place in this community. Any insight or similar experiences?
edit: the evaluator is not technically a doc like i initially thought, not that it makes a huge difference to me personally but i’m receiving some good advice about providers so i updated the language.
