Post Body

I was having a conversation with a relative who is a nurse and explained that as I get older and my adhd has kind of been getting a bit worse, im noticing that i have almost no motivation to do anything and has been actively causing me to become depressed and she told me that adhd should have me being the most motivated person in the room and wanting to do everything all the time and when i tried to explain to her that it's not really like that and she may have the wrong idea about how some people handle adhd (for me it's short burst hyper-fixations), she just straight up told me it's all in my head, i'm making it up, and don't have adhd even though i've been diagnosed since highschool.

Is my adhd the reason my motivation tends to drop off a cliff all the time and shes just trying to gaslight me or is it true that the two aren't really correlated because i dont want to completely dismiss her as she's been a nurse for longer than i've been alive but at the same time, shes not infallible either.
