Has anyone experienced intermittent but stronger ringing in the ears when taking their prescribed Instant Release dosage but not with XR Extended Release?

I was recently prescribed an IR dose of 30mg along with my XR dose of 30mg - I’ve taken the same XR dose for 12 years, so when the ringing started after adding the IR to my daily routine, I decided to eliminate one of the doses every day for a few weeks to narrow the cause - and it seems that on days I take the IR, alone or with the XR (as prescribed), I’ll have loud heavy ringing that lasts for hours. I don’t seem to get this on days I only take the XR dose (as I have for over a decade)
