I’m currently sitting in my chair procrastinating going to the gym because it feels like an impossibly big task.
But I’m also currently sitting in my chair feeling proud of myself because I found a way to make it less stressful.
I woke up a few hours ago and decided I’d try the gym this morning. I have about 1% of motivation to go but I keep reminding myself of the benefits of going - the clearer mind and healthier body.
What I normally do is I’ll wake up, eat, and then get ready for something, be it 6th form, a day trip somewhere etc. But today, instead of getting ready at once (which usually takes an hour), I’ve been getting ready in short intervals inbetween studying.
After eating, I packed a bag. Then I went and studied for a bit. Partway through, I stopped several times and put on various clothes one by one. By spacing out the tasks, getting ready didn’t feel like such a big chore.
Of course not everyone has the time to space out getting ready, but the takeaway here is that it can help sometimes to do more than one task at once, so if you start getting stressed you can switch. If you haven’t tried this before, I’d highly recommend it, even if it doesn’t work, you’ll have at least tried!!
Now I need to find the motivation to get in the car, drive, park, go in the gym and workout, drive home, and shower.. I’ll try and break it down to think about each sub task individually so I don’t get overwhelmed
Hope everyone is having a lovely day and here’s a daily reminder that your best changes each day, and you should always be proud of what you achieve, even if it’s less than you expected ❤️❤️
