Hi all, was diagnosed with ADHD almost a year ago, currently on 50mg Vyvanse which has helped to some degree but still have days of major procrastination and issues sleeping.
I've been a permanent employee for over a decade for several different companies, changing roles ever 2-3 years either due to lack of progression, lack of motivation, general performance issues etc.
I've been lucky in one respect that the industry I'm in has been booming recently (renewables) and with my experience in this field over the past 10 years there is a supply issue, not enough experienced professionals for the role I do. I've been offered a role on a 12 month contract earning ~£650 per day which is a huge jump compared to what I currently earn.
I'm a little worried that my procrastination issues could lead to early termination of my contract and imposter syndrome might cause me a lot of anxiety. Has anyone else here had a successful contracting/freelancing career while having adhd? Are there any suggestions or tips to help me be successful? Does your mindset change when you are contracting as you have not got the "safety net" that employees have etc?
