"Has a physical, mental, or emotional health condition that limits their ability to work, attend school, or take care of their daily needs?"
I have ADHD/bipolar disorder, and I think BPD. I'm 29 and just got diagnosed. I've started treatment for bipolar, but ADHD is only peripherally addressed through the antipsychotics/mood stabilizer I take. I think that I'm in an early stage of pharmacological treatment. About a year ago, I had an acute psychotic episode, involuntary psych hold, and finally a general diagnosis. I've been unemployed or working part time since, and in the year leading up to the break. I'm also struggling with cannabis and nicotine abuse disorder; working on tapering right now. Oh, and I got brain damage from alcohol use and withdrawal and self-neglect the year before my episode. At least, that's what they told me at my time in the hospital. Obviously, I've been loosely employed because my psyche has been so rocky. Work makes all of my symptoms worse, which makes my performance gradually get worse as the days go by. Part time work allows for enough recovery time to maintain. Also, my home life is drastically affected every day (Took me two hours to wash three pans last week), but I don't think the corporate-government complex cares about that.
