(UK) Need help attempting to navigate the NHS as an adult for medication (already diagnosed)
Post Body

I hope this follows the rules, but I'm getting really stressed and desperate now. This might get a tad bit long but the title is the TLDR and I wanted to provide as much info as possible to hopefully help those that can help.

I was diagnosed when I was 15, officially diagnosed, and I'm now 22. After issues with medication when I was younger (which now we think was likely caused by thyroid cancer) I want to attempt to try medication again now that the underlying issues are being sorted out.

Unfortunatly, I was diagnosed through CAMHS and with it being the absolute cesspit that that is, I was kicked out of the system right before turning 18, thus I was never moved over to the adult services. Because of this, I've needed to go back through and get another referral to the adult ADHD services to attempt to get back to trying medication again.

At the end of 2021, right on new years, I talked to my GP and she agreed to refer me to the ADHD services... Cut to over a year later and I've heard nothing at all since. I've moved in the past couple months so I can't contact my old GP, and my new GP is impossible to contact.

I have verified that a referral was made, but I have 0 clue to who, and I can't seem to work out where a referral could have been made to.

So I guess my questions are these:

1) Where would a GP refferal go to for ADHD medication specifically for already diagnosed adults.

2) Is there a better way of doing this? Some kind of system cutter I'm not aware of? I'm even getting to the point of looking at private, non-NHS systems now.

I'm at the point in life where a diagnosis means nothing anymore. Great I know what's wrong, but my ADHD is severely impacting me to the point of being stupid and fustrating. I'm terrified of going into work because of it without additional support. I'll take any and all sane help, please. I've already tried to get people to chase the referral, but that came back with silence as well - even just trying to work out where the referral went to.
