There is a Meteor Shower currently happening in my village. Would you like to make a wish? Come on over! Please leave a comment after you have added me, I'll leave you a reply when my gates are open. Please stay near the train station to make your wish. I'll close once you and any other current visitors have successfully made a wish.

How to wish:

Press Up on the D Pad to look at the sky. Every once in a while, a shooting star will appear with a sound effect. While you are looking at the sky, press "A" when a star falls. If you do it with the proper timing, you will make a wish. You can tell that you've made a wish successfully because the star will twinkle brighter with an additional sound effect, and your character will mouth words and make a motion with their hands like they are praying. The next day you will get a letter in the mail with a present!
