Does anyone know what the new max number of item slots is, total?

The update notes always make it very confusing. Max for non-paid upgrades is 775, that makes sense. Max for paid is 2000, that makes less sense. Does that mean that max item slots total is now 2,775? I am at 2000, and can still buy more, I would like to know how high it goes, does anyone know?
