First month post op on right knee using a quad tendon. I’ve had 2 ACL surgeries on my left knee using a hamstring graft. I was always able to overcome the surgery and did PT with ease, stopped using crutches 5 after surgery. However with this surgery on my right knee, I would say it is a bit more harder. Stopped using crutches on day 7 and started walking on my own. Exercises and PT immediately on day 4, first 3 days post surgery are the worst, was eating pa in killers like Tic-Toc lentils and it didn’t help. What helps with healing is that the surgeon injected a PRP (platelet rich plasma) serum right after he sewed my leg. Latest studies are showing that quad tendon appears to be the strongest and missing tissue from your quad will grow back overtime. If anyone is about to get surgery I recommend at least 2-3 months of intense strength training before surgery to get back on your feet asap after surgery. This was my 3rd ACL surgery so let me know if you have any questions.
