Couple of ideas I have:

• After college your daughter moved home (can also be on a break). You, her single parent, have missed her immensely. So you start the process of gradually regressing her to be your little girl, since you can't bear the idea of her moving out

• Your daughter is involved in a serious accident. As a result of the accident, she has anxiety, a bit of confusion and starts to have accidents. I see this progressing as a way to get their little girl back. Ideally slow burn

• An adult to go off to college soon is held back by over protective parents. A single parent doesn't want their baby to grow up. So over time they put her back into diapers and slowly regress her, making her their little baby girl again

My character is eighteen and been struggling. She is caught her in the morning in a diaper she wore to check out as an experiment.It is a very soaked diaper at that.
