I'm sitting downstairs in the living room sipping my morning coffee on a cold Christmas morning. Upstairs I hear her stirring. The patter of feet exiting her room as she approaches the top of the stairs. A pause. Then a shrill squeal of glee and giggles as she bounds down the stairs. She excitedly asks if Santa had come. I tell my little angel that yes, Santa had come and left her presents for being a very good girl. I watch her plop her diapered bottom on the floor next to the tree as she grabs colorful boxes, reading labels, and repeatedly saying "Mine!" My heart is full. I am content.
