Wanting to switch to sfw but have questions

I have been abdl for a year or so (but haven’t explored it bc I’m nervous) and some life changing events have happened and I want to try instead of using this as a kink thing use it as a regression tool to help cope. But my problem is that whenever I try to regress sfw it ends up as a kink thing, is there anyway to differentiate between the two?
