Why do people call us pedos?

I don’t get why people call ABDLs pedophiles. The whole definition of it is adults wearing diapers. It’s even part of our acronym, ADULT Baby Diaper Lover. Why do people label us as pedos?

EDIT: If you’re wondering what prompted this, I sent someone a DM yesterday explaining what ABDL is on one of my alt accounts and got a warning message from the Reddit admins today for “sharing or soliciting sexual or suggestive content involving minors” even though my explanation explicitly said that ABDL involves ADULTS wearing and using diapers.
