And tonight I've taken four separate calls for suicidal people, the last two were transgender women, one of whom was homeless and had been raped, then the next call was another alone in her uni halls, she had been bullied and had a load of paracetamol which she began taking while I was on the line, I couldn't talk her out of it. I can't even begin to identify with their situations and felt pretty helpless to help them as I waited for a crew to get to them.
I am doing a course on mental health and wellbeing next month, but for the time being I feel woefully unprepared. Our training only goes so far.
