I was reading the requirments for a job at our Broward County call center. Having followed this sub for some time now I am quite interested. However, the sorry tales of low pay, poor conditions, under staffed, poor management, etc., has made me pause.
Does your call center, for example, host visitor days where interested folks can sit and watch a dispatcher at work? That would be wonderful.
So what red flags should I look for with this specific call center?
EDIT: I am not a dispatcher, but worked for many years as an EMS helicopter pilot.
