Hello Y'all,
Happy Tuesday and hope everyone is doing well today.
Firstly, let me just say; thank you all for your service in your communities whether it be Canada or the US, etc. You all have an insanely difficult job, and I feel like dispatchers, primary responders, and hell even nurses don't hear that enough these days.
So as my post states, I did the criticall testing yesterday for the Toronto Police Service. I was given about 72 hours to do it from them. I had to work two of those 48 hours but did some extra prep ie WPM, Accuracy and data entry the day of just to prepare a bit. I can say with certainty that I didn't do the greatest on the data entry because I was using my laptop. I still managed to get over slightly half the entries in with 100% accuracy and respond to the emergencies that popped up.
In any case, there's likely a good chance I didn't do well on 2/10 sections. The other ones were a breeze tbh it was all logic based and reading comprehension.
My main question(s) are:
would let's say worst case scenario bombing 2/10 sections but doing very very well on the remainder result in me failing the test?
Do they take other factors into account while selecting ppl for the next phase? I only ask because I'm an overdose prevention support worker at a safe consumption site in the city. In a nutshell I watch people inject fentanyl all day and then revive them using a combination of naloxone, oxygen administration when they overdose (which unfortunately is very often 😅), as well as doing case work etc. I've been doing that for the past 3 years, so I feel fairly qualified for the position and they got back to me within a day or two of submitting my resume.
Would any of the latter be a deciding factor for whether or not I go onto phase 2 testing? Or would it just exclusively be the score from the former?
Beyond all of that, has anyone done the criticall testing for the TPS recently? What was your experience like? How fast did they get back to you about your results?
If anyone could share some of their experiences, that'd be wonderful. Once again, thank you all for your service and hope everyone has a good day :)
