Wolverine Pro Super 8 Jitter Issue?

After scanning two films - I have this really nasty jitter problem:

Anyone else run into this? Have a solution? The sprocket holes in the film I linked actually look fine - the film in question is part of a 6" reel of spliced together footage my grand-dad took in 1968, but it seems to do it on 2" reels now too :(.
Its been a bit disheartening as I have another 100 reels to go.
