wireless adapter 2 not working at all

hi i bought a usb wireless adapter 2 to use my xbox elite series 2 controller on my switch, i get it and follow the pairing instructions it pairs but i have no inputs other then the xbox button doing home, i tried updating it and still nothing, ive set the option for wired in on the switch too, can anyone help me im a little pissed off that its not working
