I'm trying to find out when Mushroom Records released the Split Enz I Got You single to finally end the mystery of whether I Got You is a 70s song or an 80s song and have a conclusive answer for everyone, I've seen release dates for the single online being December 1979 and January 1980, I don't know how or where people sourced December 1979 and January 1980 as the release date. A few months ago when I was looking online for the release dates for the I Got You single and the True Colours album from an official source I came across Neil Finn's official website which had the release dates here https://www.neilfinn.com/i-got-you and here https://www.neilfinn.com/true-colours the release date for the True Colours album January 21 1980 is still there on the website but the release date for the I Got You single was removed for an unknown reason which was also January 21 1980 on the website before it got removed. After the release date got removed from Neil Finn's official website I've been feeling uncertain about whether I Got You is actually an 80s song or not and if the I Got You single and the True Colours album were both released on the exact same day or not since the January 21 1980 release date for the single came from an official source. I've sent some messages on Neil Finn's official website, Mushroom Group's website, and Warner Music Australia's website contact pages and to Split Enz Facebook page to try and get the release date for the single, I'm still waiting for a reply from them. I'm not sure if someone has the release date in their archives or if anyone who was involved with recording, production, or publishing I Got You has the release date. Can anyone get in contact with anyone who can give us the actual release date?
