We know in the 70s, 80s, and 90s that a lot of shows coexistence in a shared universe due to spin offs and cross overs. I was just watching Night Court, season 6 episode 15 and the character of Judge Wilbur played by Florence Stanley filled in for Judge Stone. Florence also played Judge Margaret Wilbur on My Two Dads. Though it is never explicitly mentioned on either show that both Judge Wilburs are the exact same character, I like to think that they are and that My Two Dads and Night Court are in the same universe.

Edit: I was redirected to evidence that the cross over between these shows was official...with Richard Moll having a guest spot on My Two Dads as Bull Shannon.
