Hello there!
I wanted to ask if this is considered normal and not unusual.
We were on Day 5, so horde night that night for us. We had built a fairly decent first horde base, with one fall back so assumed all was going to go well considering this was our FIRST horde night in the playthrough. The base was made of cobblestone as we'd only just got a forge on day 5 so didn't have the resources to upgrade further.
We were all shocked to see that the horde night was spawning very late-game zombies like radioactive zombies, cops and several demolishers. A demolisher got set off and it completely fucked our base. We went to our fall back position and another demolisher blew that up. There were probably 5 demolishers total in the horde. We were literally standing on the last final pillars, and somehow made it through the night, but still died trying to fight the horde off into the morning. We were really surprised to see demolishers so early in the game, considering a lot of people claim to not see them even past days 20-30 .
I'm wondering if is this part because we're a group of 4, and our base was in the snow biome, so it beefed the game stage up so much it was throwing late-game hordes at us. Should we instead set up camp in a forest/green biome and tweak something so we don't xp as quickly? Any suggestions so we can actually survive our horde nights appropriate to the time played?
Few things to note:
- Multiplayer with 4 of us in total
- All of us are between level 22-25 with each being around game stage 84.
- We live in the snow biome, so our base was in the snow biome.
- All settings are default i.e. zombie block damage, only 12 zombies per player per wave etc.
- We set it to horde night every 5 days.
- Playing the new A21 Experimental
- We have split shared XP on
- We're still learning the game that's why we're so surprised we got our ass beat so hard.
Oh and, we're getting a super annoying bug where one of our friends sometimes gets disconnected and his player profile gets re-set to level 1 and clears the books he had read, but his inventory and bedroll are there. It's clearly corrupting his player profile. We're dealing with it by basically cheating his levels and books back in, but it's still annoying as it's happened three times to him. He's re-downloading the game to see if it's a fix.
