I just recently got surgery on my chest. I have drains in and everything but no pain meds was wondering if I could take some safely

I don’t wanna ask for oxy I know I won’t be dependent on this stuff I just need it to help me sleep from this pain. Just so much pain. There’s not as much information on the stuff as I’d like. I tried to look up myself anymore with an information would help.
