7 String Purchase help between 3 choices

Post Body

Hi, I'm looking to buy a 7 string. This would be my first one, and my budget is around $1.5-2k USD. I've basically narrowed it down to three choices:

  1. Schecter C-7 SLS Elite ($1400)
  2. Schecter KM7 MK III Artist ($1900)
  3. Legator N7FX ($2000)

I know lots of people on this sub have great things to say about the Schecter KM7, so I was leaning towards it for the longest time, but I recently saw that Schecter has new colors of the C7 SLS Elite, and I'm not really sure if the spec differences between the KM7 and C7 are worth $500. As described on the schecter site, they're similar neck profiles, similar specs, similar pickups, etc. The KM7 just has brand name hardware in some places and custom fishman pickups, though it also has a voicing switch. Is that a valuable feature?

The third option is the N7FX, which also seems to have pretty comparable specs as the Schecters, though looks gorgeous. My only concern with it is that it's the most expensive option and has proprietary Legator hardware for tuners and bridge. I've heard bad things about Legator's QC, so it gives me pause about all the proprietary hardware on that guitar.

Does anyone have experience that can help disambiguate the differences between these three models? On paper they seem pretty similar.

Thanks!
