Is it appropriate for a teacher to take all phones every lesson?
Post Body

(Iā€™m not angry, Iā€™m just looking for other peoplesā€™ opinions because this is a weird situation.) In English language we now have to hand our phones into a box every lesson because of two people who are always on them. It feels unfair to many of us because we havenā€™t done anything wrong and a few of us use phones during lessons for taking photos of diagrams or the board to make notes from later if the discussion is too fast. It feels like we have lost some responsibility in a way. Of course Iā€™m glad that it means the people involved will be less distracted but I just feel like a child again. We didnā€™t have to hand them in in year 12 and we are now year 13. We signed an agreement with the school to use them responsibly in lessons to help learning so this feels like backtracking a bit. Also Iā€™m neurodivergent and having my phone touching everyone elseā€™s makes me feel really uncomfortable. And they are our property so if something happens to them in the box its technically our own fault :/
