I see so many posts from disappointed users who haven’t received the offer that they’ve been hoping for. I was the same back when I applied for uni, so I get it - it’s really hard and it can feel so unfair. It hurts the most when you’ve put so much effort in and it feels like you’re not being seen at all.
However,
You are not owed a place. Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, so forth, they don’t owe you anything. You’re not owed an interview. The fact that you’re in a place to be able to apply is a privilege. You might think that your 5 A* predictions, an EPQ, a startup etc shows exactly why you’re the person for the place, but at the end of the day, it’s an application. For the top universities, most people get rejected.
I understand it’s hard, especially when so many of you will have been top of your classes for your entire lives. Sometimes it feels unfair. Sometimes it IS unfair. That’s life. Life is unfair.
Don’t let this get you too down though (a little bit of sadness won’t hurt, much). You’ll do great wherever you go. Sometimes that push is what you need to achieve greatness.
