Is 5-MeO-DMT hard to produce?

So the mod /u/Shaman-Shakers did a simple but good answer to my last post.
(Also Shaman-Shakers you do insanely good posts, keep em coming :) seen you on other subs too)
my question is about producing 5-MeO-DMT. Is this a really hard thing to produce and needing a lot of equipment and high level chemistry ability?
Is that why it is so rare compared to say LSD or MDMA?
Or is more a matter of not enough talk and awareness and marketing of it that would make it more highly produced and available?
