An Australian couple, set to fly out from Chiang Mai has stated that they had slashed their bags, stuffed in massive amounts of drugs. They are quoted as saying, "we packed these, and thank goodness that Canadian couple was there, so once we got back to our hotel we could hypothetically blame them. We noticed that our bags were missing locks (didn't put any on), and that the straps had been cut...by us."
As yet, not a single Canadian has been apprehended. 14 Americans with maple leafs affixed to their backpacks, worried about their safety have been interrogated. The Canadian couple remains at large. The Australians further postulate that, "it could have been anyone who didn't put drugs in our bags...."
